c.1943 Built Rite, Army Trench with Six Soldier in Factory Sealed Box

c.1943 Built Rite, Army Trench with Six Soldier in Factory Sealed Box

This is another of four Built-Rite sets which I recently purchased. It was probably the latest produced of the four. The others were from the 1930's. It's the only set of the four I found that was still factory sealed.

This is the Built-Rite No.14 Army Trench, Complete with Six (WWII) Soldiers. It's entirely made of pressed cardboard and lithographed paper which would've been folded and slotted together. Since its unopened I don't know the final dimensions of the trench, or if it contained a set of instructions.

The box is marooned colored with an applied photo print on the cover. It was much less elegantly designed than Built-Rite toys produced only 10 years earlier. It shows the six soldiers taking aim behind an enclosed trench encircled with sand bags and barbed wire. Unlike the other toys I bought the box bottom was not part of the actual toy. And also unlike the other sets I purchased the name of the actual manufacturer, Warren Paper Products Company of Lafayette, Indiana was not printed on the box. Even the catalog number 14 was not included.

Size: Box 11½ x 6½" x ¾".
